The new Budleigh Salterton Almshouses

Almshouses are coming to Budleigh

As a local charity, The Shandford Trust, has taken its first step and will build three new almshouses for older residents in need in the heart of Budleigh Salterton.
  
Almshouses have served a charitable role in this country for over a thousand years. They are now, once again, answering an urgent need of their time, serving as a lifeline for those over 60 who may not qualify for traditional social housing. The residents will be charged below rental market rates, which will cover any ongoing maintenance costs.
  
Designed for warm, comfortable living with low running costs, the new homes are ideally situated next to Seachange, Budleigh’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. ​
